List of Premier League seasons

List of Premier League seasons

This is a list of every Premier League season from the league's foundation in 1992–93 to the end of the most recent completed season. To date, there have been sixteen Premier League seasons. The league has been won by four different clubs—Manchester United (ten times), Arsenal (three times), Chelsea (twice) and Blackburn Rovers (once).

Manchester United won the first title in 1992–93, and the club has never finished outside the top three in any Premier League season. The Red Devils are also the only club to have won three Premier League titles in a row, having denied Chelsea the chance to complete the same feat in 2006–07. Arsenal are the only club to have gone through an entire Premier League season undefeated.

The record for the most points accumulated in a Premier League season belongs to Chelsea, who accumulated 95 points over 38 games in the 2004–05 season. At the other end of the scale, Derby County accumulated just 11 points in the 2007–08 season, beating Sunderland's record of 15 points. Derby County also hold the record for the fewest goals scored in a season, having scored just 20 goals in 2007–08, while Manchester United hold the record for the most goals scored, with 97 in the 1999–2000 season.
