Duston is a village and civil parish in the borough of Northampton in the English county of Northamptonshire. It has been a settlement since at least Roman times.[1]

The village is undergoing rapid growth and has been incorporated into the main town of Northampton. At the time of the 2001 census, the parish's population was 15,565 people.[2]

Duston was the location for Northampton's largest post-World War II employer,[citation needed] British Timken Company (tapered roller bearing manufacturers). The factory was closed in 2002[3] and the large site is being redeveloped for housing.[4]

The area is served by the nearby Sixfields site, which includes a cinema and football stadium, as well as many restaurants and pubs. Blacks Leisure Group (owner of Blacks and Millets) is based on an industrial estate on Mansard Close.
