Bill Smith (baseball)

Bill Smith (b. 1958) is the fifth general manager for the Minnesota Twins. He took over October 1, 2007 from long time manager and mentor Terry Ryan.

Smith graduated from Hamilton College in 1980. In a recent New York Times article, [http://www.nytimes.com/2007/12/30/sports/baseball/30chass.html?_r=1&oref=slogin "Whither the Game? Just Asking"] ] , Smith reflects, "Hamilton was a great liberal arts school."
