SABMiller, one of the top five global brewing companies,^[1][2] owns a portfolio of over 150 brands, including international beers such as Pilsner Urquell, Peroni Nastro Azzurro and Miller Genuine Draft, and local brands, such as Gambrinus and Castle Milk Stout.^[3]

Botswana brewery

Chibuku Shake Shake (so called because it separates out and must be shaken) is brewed from a mix of sorghum and corn, and sold in paper cartons or 2 litre brown plastic containers with a wide blue lid.^[4][5][6]

Canarias Brewery

The Canarias Brewery was formed in 1994 from the merger of two Canary Island breweries, CCC and SICAL, both of whom had been established at the start of the 20th century.^[7] The brewery produces the beer brands, Dorada and Tropical,^[8] and brews under licence various global brands, such as Carlsberg, Pilsner Urquell, and Guinness.

Castle brewery

Castle Brewery was founded in Johannesburg in 1894. It later merged with other breweries to form South African Breweries.

The main brand is Castle Lager, a 5% pale lager introduced in 1895. Castle Lager has won many awards, from gold medals to the "World's Best Bottled Lager" award at the 2000 International Brewing Industry Awards.^[9] It is advertised as "somewhat dry, somewhat bitter, never sweet" and as "the beer that stood the test of time".^[10] Other brands are Castle Lite and Castle Milk Stout.

Dreher Brewery

Dreher (Kőbánya) Brewery (Dreher Sörgyárak) in Budapest is owned by SABMiller. Its main products are the Dreher Classic, Arany Ászok and Kőbányai Világos pilsener-style lagers but it also brews Dreher Bak (a double bock).

Kompania Piwowarska breweries

Kompania Piwowarska (which in Polish means "Brewing Company") is a brewing company established in Poland in 1999 as a result of the merger of two SABMiller owned Polish breweries, the Lech brewery in Poznań, and the Tyskie Górny Śląsk brewery in Tychy, which was founded in 1629.^[11] The company also owns the Dojlidy Brewery in Białystok‎. The three breweries have a total capacity of 15.1 million hectolitres.^[12] SAB purchased a majority share in the Lech and Tyskie breweries in 1995.^[13] Kompania Piwowarska currently controls 45% of the Polish beer market.^[14]
