"CBHD" (China Blue High-Definition), formerly known as "CH-DVD" (China High Definition DVD), is a high definition optical disc format announced in September 2007 by the Optical Memory National Engineering Research Center (OMNERC) of Tsinghua University in China. The format was a joint venture between the DVD Forum and OMBERC in 2005, and it was officially completed in 2007. There are some similarities between CBHD and the DVD Forum's HD DVD format, however the video compression and copy protection will be different.
