"The Stentor" is a student-run weekly newspaper at Lake Forest College. The paper began publishing in 1886, and still produces issues weekly. As the main open forum for students to express opinions, "The Stentor" has played an important role in evincing student dissatisfaction with the college's administration. Even more, it has allowed faculty and staff to eliminate rumored changes in policy, by giving them the chance to reach student readers.

"The Stentor"'s current advisor is author Fern Schumer Chapman.

The current Editor in Chief of "The Stentor" is Kyle P. Meredith.

Members of the 2008-2009 Editorial Board

Its name comes from the Greek Stentor, a herald of the Greek forces in the Trojan War, who died after defeat in a shouting contest with Hermes. However, it keeps a Latin motto: "Magna veritas, est prevalebit," or "Truth is mighty and it shall prevail."
