- Kövérszőlő
Kövérszőlő is indigenous to the
Tokaj-Hegyalja wine region ofHungary but is also grown inTransylvania . The variety almost entirely disappeared from Tokaj after the phylloxera epidemic of the 19th century. Kövérszõlõ ( _hu. fat grape) is characterized by its relatively large big berries. It is suitable for makingaszú wines because of its susceptibility to botrytisation and its high sugar content.
