Arcadia door

Arcadia door

In architecture, an Arcadia door is a rectangular, sliding glass door that is mounted parallel and adjacent to a similar (often fixed) glass partition and slides, usually on one or more rollers, in its own plane (usually in a fixed track) parallel to its neighboring partition and aligning with said partition when fully opened.

Arcadia doors are commonly used in some regions as doors between the interior of a home and a backyard patio or pool area, they are often called patio doors in this situation. The name Arcadia derives from the name of one well-known manufacturer of such doors.
