"Exodus" is a role-playing game published by Glutton Creeper Games. Originally the game was set in the "Fallout" universe, but following loss of copyrights to Bethesda Softworks, it's current copyright holder, the publisher decided to continue working on the game with retaining most of its elements and excluding all references to Fallout.

History

The project of creating the "Fallout" role-playing game based on "d20 Modern" system started in 2006 and the publisher obtained permission from Interplay, the creator of the original "Fallout" cRPG series. Legal complication arose in mid-2007, when Bethesda Softworks', lawyers claimed Interplay was unable to licence a role-playing game and thus the contract between Glutton Creeper and Interplay was annulled [http://gluttoncreeper.com/exodus?page=1 ZeniMax Media demands removal of references to "Fallout"] ] .

Impact of losing copyright

Despite breaking with the "Fallout" franchise, "Exodus" kept most of its rudimentary ideas. The game will be set in a post-apocalyptic future and key concepts of fallout, that is supermutants and ghouls will still be present. The game also retained its influences in 1950's postmodern sylistics and references to postwar comic books and science-fiction.

Setting

The game will be set in southwest USA. The storyline of "Exodus" will encompass an alternative history of 20th century from 1939 to 2012, which is the year of nuclear war's outbreak.
