Career
Born in Kumasi, Asare previously spent his early career with Kumasi Cornerstones, Feyenoord Ghana, Feyenoord and Royal Antwerp.[1] On 16 May 2009 it was announced that Asare would leave his contract with Mechelen after the completion of the 2008/2009 season Y.R. K.V. Mechelen, and he signed a four-year contract until June 2013 with Dutch side Utrecht.[2]
On 11 September 2011, Asare netted his second and third Eredivisie goals for Utrecht as he helped his side defeat Excelsior 3-2.[3] Asare grabbed another brace on 6 November, this time against Ajax. Included in this was the game-winning goal of a stunning 6-4 upset.[4][5]
