Matt Ouimet is the president of Cedar Fair Entertainment, a publicly-traded company that owns 11 amusement parks in the U.S. and Canada.

Cedar Fair's board named him president in June. Ouimet is scheduled to take over as the chief executive officer in 2012, when the current CEO, Richard "Dick" Kinzel, retires on Jan. 2.

He also is a member of the board of Collective Brands, Inc.

Ouimet was employed by The Walt Disney Company for 17 years. He served as president of Disney Cruise Line and president of the Disneyland Resort.

Career highlights

Ouimet spent 17 years with The Walt Disney Company, including stints as chief financial officer of the Disney Development Company, executive general manager of Disney Vacation Club, president of Disney Cruise Line and president of the Disneyland Resort, where he oversaw the resort's Happiest Homecoming on Earth promotion from 2005-2006 in honor of Disneyland's 50th anniversary.^[1] He was succeeded as president of the Disneyland Resort by Ed Grier in an announcement made July 25, 2006.^[2]

After leaving The Disney Company, Ouimet joined Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide, Inc. as President, Hotel Group in 2006. He oversaw global operations for more than 850 hotels in 95 countries. In September 2008, he was replaced by Matthew Avril and departed the company.^[3]

In December 2008, Ouimet became the President and Chief Operating Officer of Corinthian Colleges, Inc. He announced on October 11, 2010 that he would be leaving CCi for personal reasons.^[4]

Matt Ouimet is a Director of Collective Brands, Inc. where he serves on the audit and finance committee.^[5]

On June 20, 2011, Ouimet was named president of Cedar Fair Entertainment Company, and will assume the CEO position on January 3, 2012.^[6]

Born in 1958, Ouimet earned a bachelor of science degree in accounting from Binghamton University^[1].
