Jeff Carter (infielder)

Jeff Carter (born October 20, 1963) is a Manager in Minor League Baseball, who currently manages the Los Angeles Dodgers Rookie League team, the Gulf Coast Dodgers.

Playing career

Carter was drafted in the 9th round of the 1985 amateur draft out of the University of Nebraska by the San Francisco Giants. He played both infield and outfield during his 12 seasons in the farm systems of the Giants, Oakland Athletics, Minnesota Twins, Florida Marlins and Colorado Rockies.

*1985: Everett Giants (A- division, Giants) - hit .304 in 54 games, 28 steals.
*1986: Clinton Giants (A division, Giants) - hit .227 in 128 games, 60 steals.
*1987: Fresno Giants (A+ division, Giants) - hit .275 in 135 games, 49 steals.
*1988: Shreveport Captains (AA division, Giants) - hit .247 in 124 games, 15 steals.
*1989: Shreveport Captains (AA division, Giants) - hit .290 in 127 games, 33 steals.
*1990: Phoenix Firebirds (AAA division, Giants) - hit .292 in 121 games, 28 steals.
*1991: Phoenix Firebirds (AAA division, Giants) - hit .272 in 92 games, 11 steals.
*1992: Tacoma Tigers (AAA division, Athletics) - hit .268 in 123 games, 22 steals.
*1993: Portland Beavers (AAA division, Twins) - hit .325 in 101 games, 17 steals.
*1994: Salt Lake Buzz (AAA division, Twins) - hit .324 in 122 games, 26 steals.
*1995: Charlotte Knights (AAA division, Marlins) - hit .269 in 124 games, 22 steals
*1996: Colorado Springs Sky Sox (AAA division, Rockies) - hit .255 in 50 games, 3 steals.

Coaching career

After his playing career ended, he became a coach and manager in the minor leagues.
