Hyundai Mu engine

The Hyundai Mu engine is a variant of the 2.7 Liter Hyundai Delta engine.

Applications

The Mu Engine in the Kia Rondo is Engine Code G6BA and is more like Delta, While the Kia Optima's has several more (24) variations of the Rondo's Mu (Which has 7 variations from Delta, adding 9 hp). The Optima's Mu Engine Code is G6A5, and even though it has 24 variations of the Rondo, it only adds convert|3|hp|abbr=on, but burns slightly less fuel and there is less vibration (which because of its size, is hidden in Rondo) and it has a 100 rpm lower idle speed. The Mu engine used in the Optima is the same one used in the Hyundai Santa Fe.

pecification

It is rated convert|185|hp|abbr=on @ 6,000 rpm, and convert|182|ft.lbf|N.m|abbr=on. @ 4,000 rpm.

It is a 60-degree 6-cylinder, with aluminum block and aluminum heads.

It still features DOHC with 4 valves per cylinder, and Multi-Port Fuel Injection.

Now it features CVVT and VLM Variable length intake runners.

Released in the 2006.5/2007 (Third Generation) Kia Optima, the 2007 Kia Rondo, and the 2007 (Second Generation) Hyundai Santa Fe.
