Voices of the Gods

Voices of the Gods

The Voices of the Gods are the chosen priests of the Five and heads of the Pentadrian religion in Trudi Canavan's Age of the Five fantasy trilogy.

Background

The Voices of the Gods are powerful magicians of the Pentadrian religion who rule the south of Ithania. Elected from the most talented and popular of the Dedicated Servants, they dress entirely in black and are gifted with enhanced powers, including immortality, by the Five, whom they are sworn to serve. Their counterparts in the Circlian religion and North Ithania are their archenemies, the White. The Voices often breed magically mutated beasts to serve them in battle, such as Genza and her birds of prey, or Shar and his vorns.

Initially, in order of strength, the Voices are:

*Kuar
*Imenja
*Vervel
*Genza
*Shar

Following Kuar's death at the hands of Auraya of the White in battle:

*Nekaun
*Imenja
*Vervel
*Genza
*Shar

Following Nekaun's death at the hands of the other Voices of the Gods

*Imenja
*Vervel
*Genza
*Shar
