A. Film A/S

A. Film A/S is a Danish animation studio established in 1988 in Copenhagen, Denmark. It is Scandinavia's largest animation studio, and specialises in both traditional and computer animated films. It was founded by animators Stefan Fjeldmark, Karsten Kiilerich, Jørgen Lerdam and Hans Perk and producer Anders Mastrup prior to the completion of their film "Valhalla" in 1986. The aim of the studio is to produce high quality animation in films, TV series and commercials. The Danish media corporation Egmont purchased 50 percent of A. Film in 1995 and moved A. Film under the umbrella of its film division, Nordisk Film. A. Film owns four wholly-owned subsidiaries located in Tallinn, Estonia (est. 1994), Riga, Latvia (est. 2002) Munich, Germany (est. 2006) and Los Angeles, California (est. 2008).
