Somerniemi

Somerniemi is a former rural district in Finland. It was incorporated to Somero in year 1977. The wood church of Somerniemi is from year 1813 (A. V. Arppe).

Author Kaari Utrio lives in Somerniemi. There worked also writer Helvi Hämäläinen, that's memory festivities was celebrated in year 2003.

In year 1975 established Somerniemi-society is an active native place society. It organizes the native place celebrations and summer market square occasions and practises publication operations.
