WRIX-FM is a Variety radio station located in the Upstate region of South Carolina under the name "103.1 WRIX". The station is licensed by the FCC to the town of Honea Path and broadcasts on 103.1 FM with an ERP of 6 kW. Its signal can be heard mainly in the Anderson part of the Greenville-Spartanburg radio market; however, the signal reaches well into Greenville, parts of Spartanburg, and surrounding areas.

WRIX-FM carries the football, basketball and baseball games of the University of South Carolina and Coastal Carolina University along with local High School football Games on Friday nights. The station aired a News/Talk format until September 13th, 2008; the talk format was shifted to WANS 1280 AM. The station briefly carried an A.C. feed after switching, but has now switched to mostly 70`s Oldies. Jones' "Good Time Oldies" format can also be heard at some times. The station has been experimenting with different satellite feeds, but it is expected to end up being an Oldies format. The Morning Show is live and local and is really the same format of the old Matt and Bev Show. WRIX-FM simucasts WYFF TV 4 News out of Greenville, S.C. live weekdays at 6 AM and 6 PM. They carry the Phil Kornbult Sports Talk Show out of Columbia. They also have a live and local Sports talk call-In show weeknights from 8 to 10 PM. On Sunday mornings they feature longtime d.j. Dan Scott playing Gospel Music in the mornings along with Bluegrass. Sunday evenings feature local church broadcasts. The station has much local community programming and news. Early Saturday Morning Programming incled "Southern Woods and Water" at 6 Am- 9 AM. It is a talk call in show hosted by hunters and fisherman. On Saturday Nights, they feature live broadcasts of the Bluegrass Show down at the Barn in Hartwell, G.A.

WRIX-FM was founded by the late Matt Phillips (who also started WCCP-AM 1560 in 1969 in Clemson, SC). WRIX-FM signed on the air June 10th, 1977 featuring an automated Top 40 format. In 1983, the station changed to Classic-leaning Country as "X103" and added a daytime-only AM station in 1986 when WRIX signed on. WRIX-FM has many local sporting events, local news, death and crime announcements and was the longtime home of "The Matt and Bev" Morning Show.

Matt Phillips, the station's founder and operator died in August 1997. His wife took over and then she died about ten months later. Their daughter took over management of the station. She sold the station in late 2005 to a local business owner who kept all operations mostly the same at the station.

The News–Talk format was aired on WRIX-FM from 2000 to 2008. On September 13, 2008, the station adopted a satellite-fed Variety format with music from the 1960s–1980s called "Variety Station" from Jones Radio Network. Actually, this is a return to the original format that WRIX-FM 103.1 had from 1977-1982 before going Classic Country/Western.
