Volleyball at the 2000 Summer Olympics - Men's volleyball

The 2000 Men's Olympic Volleyball Tournament was the tenth edition of the event, organised by the world's governing body, the FIVB in conjunction with the International Olympic Committee. It was held from September 17 to October 1, 2000 in the Sydney Entertainment Centre in Darling Harbour.

Qualification

Australia qualified as the host nation, Russia (1), Cuba (2) and Italy (3) qualified by finishing in the top-three at the 1999 FIVB Men's World Cup, while Yugoslavia (Europe), the United States (NORCECA), Brazil (South America), South Korea (Asia) and Egypt (Africa) won their continental qualifying tournament. Netherlands, Argentina and Spain each came through by one of the three Olympic Qualifying Tournaments, held in Matosinhos, Portugal (July 21–July 23), Piraeus, Greece (July 24–July 26) and Castelnau-le-Lez, France (July 25–July 27).
