TVNZ 6 is a digital-only, commercial-free television channel operated by Television New Zealand. It is available on the Freeview and TelstraClear InHomeTV platforms.

TVNZ 6 broadcasts three distinct services:
*TVNZ Kidzone, which screens preschool programming from 6.00 to 16.00
*TVNZ Family, which screens family-based programming from 16.00 to 20.30
*TVNZ Showcase, which screens arts and drama programming between 20.30 and 24.00.

Programming

Kidzone

"Kidzone" shows primarily repeated content such as "You and Me, Engie Benjy, Bumble, Fireman Sam, Fraggle Rock, Buzz and Poppy, Maggie and the Ferocious Beast, [http://www.boblins.com Boblins] , Number Jacks". It is hosted by presenter Kayne Peters, from 6am-4pm.

Family

It is estimated that 37% of Family programming will be sourced from local archives.

Showcase

Until midnight, "Showcase" features a mix of arts, documentaries, comedy and drama originally shown on the network's main channels TV One and TV2 with dramas such as "Flight of the Albatross, End of The Golden Weather, Jubilee, Clare Mataku, Doves of War, Street Legal, Orange Roughies, Duggan, Cover Story, City Life, Mercy Peak, Taonga, The Clinic, Marlin Bay, Plainclothes Cold Feet and Roy Hollsdotter Live" as well as comedies like "Matthew & Marc's Rocky Road", "Havoc & Newsboy", "Market Forces" and "Wait Till Your Father Gets Home"

Original content for the channel includes a half-hour arts show, "The Gravy", and a new talk show hosted by Finlay McDonald titled "Talk Talk". A segment called "NZ Directs" is expected to show a selection of films produced by students.
