Junior Band and Academy

Established in 1985, the Fredericton Junior Pipe Band and Academy has been instructing local youth in the art of bagpiping and drumming. Since that time, it has produced hundreds of pipers and drummers from throughout New Brunswick, who still remain with the organization or have since moved on to other provinces and bands. This teaching program has worked so well that it has been mirrored by a number of other bands.

Consisting of 13 instructors, the academy has an average student base of 45 piping students and 25 drumming students, and fields a competitive Grade 4 band.

Gord Perry is also the pipe major for the Junior Band
