Edwyn Burnaby (1798-1867)

Edwyn Burnaby (29 September 1798 – 18 July 1867) was an English landowner, of Baggrave Hall, Leicestershire,"Gentleman's Magazine", September 1867, p. 398] a Justice of the Peace, Deputy Lieutenant, and High Sheriff of Leicestershire in 1864. He also succeeded his father in the Court post of Gentleman of the Privy chamber.Burke, John, "History of The Commoners of Great Britain and Ireland", London, 1838, vol.iv, pps702-4]

Edwyn was the eldest son of Edwyn Andrew Burnaby snr., (d. 1825) (whom he succeeded on October 1, 1825), and his wife Mary, daughter & heiress of the Reverend William Browne and wife Mary Adcock. He was educated at Christ Church, Oxford, and served as a captain in the Prince of Wales's Dragoon Guards and the Leicestershire Yeomanry.

On August 29 1829, he married Anne Caroline Salisbury, daughter of Thomas Salisbury, by Frances, daughter of Francis Webb. [http://www.guiseley94.freeserve.co.uk/webb.pdf]

They had several children, including:
*Edwyn Sherard Burnaby (1830–1883), general and Member of Parliament
