Jean-Paul de Jong (born 17 October 1970) is a Dutch former footballer who played predominately for FC Utrecht. De Jong, who played as a midfielder, was born in Utrecht and made his debut in professional football, as part of the VfL Osnabrück squad in the 1992–93 season. He joined FC Utrecht for the 1993–94 season and would remain there for the rest of his career. In total he played 370 Eredivisie matches for FC Utrecht in which he scored a total of 11 times. This achievement gave him the nickname "Mr. FC Utrecht".On April 22, 2007 De Jong received his 83rd yellow card in the Eredivisie, surpassing the record number of cards received by a player, which had been previously held by Barry van Galen.

During his final season as a player, 2006–07, with FC Utrecht, he completed coaching training badges and began to work as a trainer with the club.
