Background

De La Salle High School was established in 2001 by Matthew Powell. It is part of the Cristo Rey Network of high schools, the original being Cristo Rey Jesuit High School in Chicago. De La Salle employs the Cristo Rey model of education.[2] Students attend class four days a week and work for a local company one day as part of their Corporate Internship Program (CIP). The CIP provides work experience, business contacts, and helps defray the cost of tuition, helping some students who might not be able to afford a Catholic education.

Sports

In 2004, after two years in existence, the De La Salle Knights boys soccer team finished second in the Oregon 2A state playoffs of the Oregon School Activities Association. They lost the championship game 0-5 to Catlin Gabel, but defeated the Oregon Episcopal School Aardvarks in the regional playoffs, and progressed to the Oregon championship game.
