Win Elliot

Win Elliot

Win Elliott (born Irwin Elliot Shalek; May 7, 1915 in Chelsea, Massachusetts - September 17, 1998 [ [http://www.highbeam.com/doc/1P1-19525453.html "Longtime Sportcaster Win Elliot Dies" AP Online] ] in Norwalk, Connecticut) was a fight announcer heard over the NBC radio network during the 1950s. From 1947 to 1949, he was the emcee of "Quick As a Flash" [ [http://www.mwotrc.com/rr2005_12/quickflash.htm "Quick As a Flash"] ] , a radio quiz program which featured drama segments with guest actors from radio detective shows.

On television, Elliot replaced Jay Jackson as host of the nighttime version of the popular quiz show, "Tic-Tac-Dough" for the remainder of the show's nighttime run (1957–59). He was a host on other game shows, including "Beat the Clock" and "Win with a Winner". Elliot was also asked to host what would later become the Ed Sullivan Show.

Win Elliot anchored "Sports Central USA" on the CBS Radio Network.
