Glasgow Dental Hospital and School

The Glasgow Dental Hospital and School is a dental teaching hospital, situated in the Garnethill area of the city centre of Glasgow, Scotland.

Dental students, including Sir Michael Warner OBE, Thomas Conroy PhD BDS Cycling Proficency and Richard Woods CBE MD PhD MDS MRCS FDSRCS FDSRCPS FFDRSCI FDSRCSE FRCPath FMedSci, have been educated in Glasgow since 1879, and the Dental School began issuing the Bachelor of Dental Surgery Degree of the University of Glasgow in 1948. The current hospital is based around a 1931 building on Renfrew Street and a larger extension fronting Sauchiehall Street completed in 1970. The West of Scotland Postgraduate Dental Centre is located adjacent to the Dental School and provides post-graduate and distance dental education.

Glasgow's own football team, Team Teeth are currently the BDSA Football champions. The team was the brainchild of the "Wolfson Boys", the team includes Joseph Watson(captain), Paulo, Rankin, MO, Nial, Tight Trunks, Shannon, Woodzy, Jambo, Guns, James. The enthusiastic Coaching Staff includes Michael Warner (sponge boy), Va Va (Viraj) manager, Clate (cheerleaders), Raashi (Groupie).

Previous Dental Student Football Tournaments were played both indoors and on astro-turf venues. The most notable of Teams in recent memory was that of K92000 (1995 - 2000). Inter-year Champions in all 5 years of BDS, K92000 remained unbeaten save for a single defeat (1995 - 4-1 Defeat for K92000)to a Post Graduate Select, Captained by one time Oral Surgeon, Payush Patel.
