Reconciling Poetics and Ethics in Architecture Conference 2007

An international conference hosted by the McGill University School of Architecture and the Canadian Centre for Architecture on September 13th to 15th, 2007 in Montreal.

Notable scholars and architects such as Lily Chi, Marco Frascari, Gregory Henriquez, Michael Jemtrud, Donald Kunze, David Leatherbarrow, Indra Kagis McEwen, Juhani Pallasmaa, and Alberto Pérez-Gómez presented on various themes in an attempt to tease out points of contact between the poetics and ethics in architecture. Centered around the question, "How can architects reconcile their wish to design a beautiful world and the imperative to create a better place for society?"

The conference was co-organized by Lian Chang, Diana Cheng, and Peter Olshavsky.
