He is the younger brother ofAustralia n actorAnthony LaPaglia . His other brother, Michael, is a car wholesaler in Los Angeles.LaPaglia graduated from
Rostrevor College , then theUniversity of Adelaide with a degree in medicine. He worked three years as an emergency-room physician in Adelaide,Sydney andLondon . Feeling restricted, he decided to follow his brother into acting. In 1994, he moved toNew York City where he joined the Circle In The Square Theatre School. He got his first break in 1996, when he joined the cast of TV show "New York Undercover ".From 1998 until 2001 he played the role of Lt. Frank B. Parker on the
science fiction series "Seven Days". Afterwards, he played Detective Kevin Debreno, on "The District " from 2001-2004. He co-starred in the 2007made for TV movie, "Gryphon", a Sci-Fi Pictures original film.He's now living in
Santa Monica, California with his wife, actressUrsula Brooks and their baby daughter.Recent appearances include the final season of
The Sopranos as himself, acting in the fictionalMafia -fundedslasher film "Cleaver".Most recently, he's appeared in an episode of
NCIS first aired in January 2008 called "Tribes" as FBI Special Agent Brent Langer. LaPaglia was set to return to the role in its sixth season as a recurring character. He appeared on the sixth season premiere "Last Man Standing" where he is suspected as a spy within the NCIS and shot by Agent Lee. It, therefore, seems unlikely that he will return as a recurring character.He appeared in the May 2008 issue of Car Craft magazine with his custom 6.1L Hemi '73 Dodge Challenger.
