Alan Quinlan (born 13 July 1974) is an Irish rugby player. He plays for Munster.

He is typically an blindside flank, but has also played openside, number eight and second row for Munster. He started at openside in Munster's Miracle Match against Gloucester in 2003. He captained the side from Number Eight in Munster's upset victory over Ulster in Ravenhill in the 2007 Magner's League.

He made a late appearance from the bench in the 2006 Heineken Cup Final win over Biarritz in Cardiff. Quinlan was voted Man of the Match as Munster beat Toulouse 16-13 on 24 May 2008 as Munster won the Heiniken Cup for a second time.

He made his debut for the Irish national team in 1999 in a Test against Romania in Dublin. He was a part of Ireland's squad at the 2003 Rugby World Cup in Australia. He dislocated his shoulder scoring a vital try against Argentina in the pool stages which ended his tournament. His latest cap came against the same opposition on Ireland's summer tour in 2007.

Quinlan was named in Ireland's 2007 Rugby World Cup squad but did not play even one minute. Eddie O'Sullivan was widely criticised after the World Cup for not using his bench. Since the World Cup Quinlan has been in terrific form with many questioning why Eddie O'Sullivan didn't give him any playing time in the World Cup. He has earned several man of the match awards playing with Munster during the 2007-08 season, and is widely considered by Munster supporters to be their outstanding forward of the season. He played a vital role in Munster's Heineken Cup quarter-final victory over Gloucester at Kingsholm, Gloucester, in April 2008. He scored a vital try in the semi-final victory over Saracens.

Quinlan married his fiancée, Irish model Ruth Griffin, in the summer of 2008.
