*1 January – In Sweden AB Radiotjänst (forerunner of Sveriges Radio) broadcasts its first programme.
*March 4 - The United States presidential inauguration is broadcast on the radio for the first time with Calvin Coolidge taking the oath of office.

*March 21 – Lowell Thomas is first heard on the radio on the Pittsburgh station KDKA.

*May 15 – Regis Cordic, (d. 1999), American radio personality and actor.
*July 7 – Wally Phillips, (d. 2008), American radio personality best known for hosting WGN's morning radio show from Chicago for 21 years.
*September 28 – Jerry Clower (d. 1998), country comedian best known for his stories of the rural South, appeared on WSM in Nashville, Tennessee.
*October 31 – Shirley Dinsdale (d. 1999), ventriloquist and television and radio personality of the 1940s and early 1950s.
