Shekomeko is a historic
hamlet in the southwest part of the town ofNorth East, New York ,United States . Location is 41°55'41"N 73°35'58"W , by the County Route 83.It was named after a Shekomeko
village of theMahican people by the Shekomeko Creek, where the hamlet ofBethel, Pine Plains, New York is located now. In 1740 a mission of Moravians was established at Shekomeko village.
