35 Dundas Street East

35 Dundas Street East

35 Dundas Street East is an office building in Downtown Toronto, Ontario, Canada. First built in 2004, the building was initially home to Olympic Spirit Toronto, an Olympic-themed entertainment attraction until 2006. The building was recently acquired by Rogers Communications as the new home of its three broadcast television stations and one radio station in the city.

The building is located east of Yonge Street on Dundas Square, near the Toronto Eaton Centre and Toronto Life Square.

Rogers Communications

On October 22, 2007, Rogers Media, the new owners of Citytv, announced an agreement to purchase the building to house its Toronto television stations CITY-TV, CFMT-TV and CJMT-TV as well as The FAN 590, a radio station. Rogers Media's $375 million purchase of Citytv in June 2007 came after the Canadian Radio-television and Telecommunications Commission (CRTC) ordered CTVglobemedia to sell the Citytv stations as part of a $1.4 billion takeover of CHUM Limited.

The former CHUM-owned television channels now owned by CTV, such as CablePulse 24, MuchMusic, MuchMoreMusic, Star!, Bravo! and Space, will remain at 299 Queen Street West.

Rogers Media's headquarters, where The Biography Channel Canada and G4techTV Canada are based, will remain at the CFMT Building at Bathurst and Fleet Streets. The Rogers Communications headquarters (where the other radio stations will remain) are based at the Rogers Building at Bloor and Jarvis Streets.
