Shona Robison is a Member of the Scottish Parliament for Dundee East. She was elected as a Scottish National Party (SNP) candidate in the 2003 election. [cite web | url=http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/scotland/2994527.stm | title=Labour suffers election casualties | date=2 May, 2003 | work=BBC News | accessdate=2008-05-03 ] Previously she had represented the SNP as an Additional Members System member for North East Scotland, having been elected in the 1999 election.

Born in Redcar, England on 26 May 1966, she was active in the SNP Youth Wing along with figures such as Nicola Sturgeon and Fiona Hyslop.

She is married to Stewart Hosie, [cite web | url=http://www.parliament.the-stationery-office.co.uk/pa/cm200708/cmhansrd/cm080306/debtext/80306-0018.htm | title=International Women’s Day Debate | date=6 March 2008 | work=House of Commons Hansard Debates | accessdate=2008-05-03 ] who is the Westminster MP for Dundee East and a former National Secretary of the SNP, and who has served as the party's Vice Convenor in charge of Organisation.

After the SNP's victory in the 2007 Scottish Parliament Election, Robison was appointed as the Minister for Public Health.
