Adam John Crosthwaite (born 22 September 1984) in
Melbourne , Victoria is an Australian cricketer who plays for theVictoria Bushrangers . He is a wicketkeeper and aggressive right-handed batsman who played a part in Australia's Under-19 World Cup win in 2002Coming into the Victorian side, Crosthwaite had big shoes to fill as
Darren Berry 's replacement. He had previously made his Victoria debut in 2002-03 when Berry was suspended for missing a training session.In 2004-05 his batting talents where shown with 54 from 38 balls in a one-day win over Queensland. In the first class arena he was dropped for Nathan Pilon in the closing stages of the season. In eight games he took 31 catches and four stumpings.
Crosthwaite is spending the 2007 season as professional for Watsonian Cricket Club in Edinburgh, Scotland in the SNCL Division One.

The
Victorian Bushrangers impressive progress in the 2007-08 Domestic Season was helped by Crosthwaite's batting contribution. He made an unbeaten 31 in Victoria's opening game with Queensland, and helped take a handful of important wickets, including several run outs. Perhaps Crosthwaite's most notable contribution was in the final, where he took a brilliant 'catch' off the first ball of West Australia's innings. Crosthwaite's quick thinking, and his teammates hysterical appeal led toLuke Ronchi walking from the field. Crosthwaite was incessantly booed for the remainder of the game, after television replays appeared to show that he gathered the ball after it had bounced. However Crosthwaite and his team hung on to secure their third title in as many attempts. After the match Crosthwaite and his teammates defended the catch, saying that the replays cannot be trusted as they are inconclusive. It was impossible to tell if his gloves reached the ball before it made contact with the ground. However, Crosthwaite was interviewed a day later by the Herald Sun newspaper where he stated that he was 100% sure that the catch had carried.External links
