Erythraean Sea

The Erythraean Sea (Greek: Ερυθρά Θάλασσα) is an ancient name for the Indian Ocean or its attached gulfs, specifically, the Persian Gulf and the Red Sea (which was formerly known as the Arabian Gulf, as the Greek "Ερυθρά" actually means Red).
