"Rhytida patula" is a species of medium-sized, air-breathing land snail, a terrestrial pulmonate gastropod mollusc in the family Rhytididae.

Distribution

This species is endemic to the western part of the South Island of New Zealand.

hell description

The shell is depressed, with rapidly increasing whorls, thin, almost entirely chitinous. The surface is finely malleated. The colour is brownish-olive. The shell diameter is up to 28 mm, and height up to 12 mm.
