Murray Clifford Oliver (born November 14, 1937 in Hamilton, Ontario)[1] is a retired Canadian ice hockey centre.

Oliver began his National Hockey League career with the Detroit Red Wings. He would also play with the Boston Bruins, While in Boston, Oliver centered the B.O.W. line with wingers John Bucyk & Tommy Williams, where he starred as a crafty, smallish playmaker. He later played for the Toronto Maple Leafs, and Minnesota North Stars. He played 18 NHL seasons, (1958 - 1975), and made the All-Star Game five times. Following 1127 regular season games, Murray had recorded 274 goals and 454 assists for a career total of 728 points. After retiring, he was hired by former teammate Lou Nanne as a Minnesota assistant coach. He stayed there until the 1985–86 NHL season, when he was let go. From there he resurfaced as a scout with the Vancouver Canucks and later took over as the club's director of pro scouting.[2]
