On this elections, two hundred and twenty-five members of the Fourth Legislative Yuan were elected. The outcome of the 1998 elections is that the Kuomintang (KMT) has made significant gains, holding for instance a comfortable majority in the Legislative Yuanndash winning 123 seats of the total 225 seats.
