José Ernesto Sosa (born June 19, 1985) is an Argentine football midfielder. He plays for Bayern Munich in the Bundesliga.

Sosa played for Estudiantes between 2002 and 2007. The undisputable highlight of his career to date was helping Estudiantes to win their first league title since 1983 by scoring the equalising goal from a free kick against Boca Juniors in the 2006 Apertura final playoff game.

After that game, his manager Diego Simeone recommended Sosa to S.S. Lazio, and it was hinted in the press that other European clubs were interested in Sosa. On February 24, 2007, a deal was announced between Estudiantes and FC Bayern Munich, and four days later, details of the transfer were disclosed: Estudiantes will receive €6 million plus ten percent of any future transfer. Sosa's contract is worth € 4.5 million over four years.

Sosa stayed with Estudiantes for the remainder of the Clausura 2007 tournament.

International career

Sosa played for Argentina Under-20 team during the 2003 FIFA World Youth Championship.

National coach Alfio Basile drafted Sosa for the national team on February 28, 2007. He made his debut as a substitute (86') at a friendly match against Mexico. March 9, 2005. He played his second match and as starter eleven against Chile, April 18, 2007.
