Autobot City

Autobot City

Autobot City is the name of a city in the fictional Transformers universe.

Overview

Autobot City on Earth was a center of operations for the Autobots, and later the primary base following the destruction of the Ark. Large enough to house possibly hundreds of Transformers it had laboratories, communications decks, command centers, and meeting rooms. It also had the ability to transform into a heavily armored fortress capable of holding off a sustained full-force Decepticon attack for over 24 hours. A smaller sub-section of the city could transform into the giant Autobot warrior, Metroplex. [ [http://www.unicron.us/tf1986/figures/metroplex.htm Autobot City: Metroplex ] ]

In some continuities, Metroplex is the entire city, and not just a subsection. The cartoon varied on this as well from episode to episode. The destruction of his transformation cog in the opening stages of the Battle of Autobot City necessitated that the city be manually transformed to battle station mode. Also stationed right at the top of the city is a large cannon; this is actually the Autobot Slammer.

Location

In the 1986 animated movie, it was stated that Autobot City is located near Lookout Mountain, placing it in the Alabama, Georgia, and Tennessee tri-state area.

In the Dreamwave comics, the location is given as as the Alaskan Wilderness.

History

Autobot City was heavily damaged in 2005 during the Battle of Autobot City. However, it was presumably repaired by the Autobots during 2005 and 2006, after the Autobots had retaken Cybertron. Armaments

When in defense mode, Autobot City is armed with numerous laser cannons, missile launchers and double blast doors to keep Decepticon invaders out.
