Amanda Palmer is the entertainment editor and presenter of "48" and "The Fabulous Picture Show" on Al Jazeera English.
She studied journalism (BAComm) in Sydney, Australia at the University of Technology, Sydney before becoming a national reporter for Channel Seven, Australia. Before joining Al Jazeera she worked for CNN, the Associated Press Television Network, and as European foreign correspondent for Channel Seven Australia.
Amongst Amanda’s high-profile interviews with acclaimed international filmmakers, highlights include; Martin Scorsese, Francis Ford Coppola, Sydney Pollack,Gabriel Byrne, Russell Crowe, Lord of the Rings composer Howard Shore and Oscar-nominated composer Dario Marianelli, Italian award costume designer Gabriella Pescucci, and Fernando Meirelles. In recent years Amanda also travelled to Moscow to interview Paul McCartney for his first concert performance in Russia, Sting in Venice, Black Eyed Peas in Verona, as well as Beyonce, Kylie Minogue, Dido and Italian music icons Zucchero and Eros Ramazzotti.
