Georgia Tech Cable Network

The Georgia Tech Cable Network (GTCN) is the on-campus television provider of the Georgia Institute of Technology in Atlanta, Georgia. Established in 1995, [cite web|first=Rebekah|last=Bardwell|url=http://www.nique.net/issues/2000-08-25/entertainment/3|title=GTCN-it’s always on|work=The Technique|date=2000-08-25|accessdate=2007-05-20] GTCN serves the on-campus buildings, especially Georgia Tech Housing. [cite web|url=http://www.housing.gatech.edu/offices/offices_gtcn.cfm|title=Housing Offices and People: GTCN|accessdate=2007-05-20] They have a 109-channel lineup, cite web|url=http://www.gtcn.gatech.edu/TVGuide/tvGuide.cfm|title=GTCN TV Guide|accessdate=2007-05-20] two of which (channels 20 and 21) they generate content for themselves. In particular, they have an interactive show called TutorVision, where Georgia Tech students call in questions to be worked live on TV. [cite web|url=http://www.gtcn.gatech.edu/TVGuide/tvGuideEntry2.cfm?programID=45|title=TutorVision|accessdate=2007-05-20] In addition, they show many recent movies. Dish Network provides most of GTCN's non-original programming. [cite web|url=http://www.nique.net/issues/2004-02-13/opinions/3|title=GTCN needs to “Dish” up Jacket cagers|accessdate=2007-05-20] The service also rebroadcasts several Atlanta-area high-definition channels. [cite web|url=http://www.resnet.gatech.edu/faq.cfm#television12|title=ResNet FAQ|accessdate=2007-05-20] The source of this high-definition content is not Dish Network; it is instead taken directly from local over-the-air broadcasts.
