St. Dominic Savio College

St. Dominic Savio College is an intermediate level college in Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh, India. It imparts education from nursery to intermediate level.

The school was established in 1977 in the name of Saint Dominic Savio.It is located in the heart of Indiranagar near Bhoothnath market, and boasts (rightly) to have the biggest auditorium and a well known alumni list, apart from a well maintained campus and a healthy infrastructure. It is managed by the Catholic Diocese of Lucknow. It is affiliated with the Council for the Indian School Certificate Examinations. It is a co-educational school.

About The Institution :

St.Dominic Savio College is an unaided Minority Educational Institution (F.No. 1480 of 20006/14307) .Established and administered by the Catholic diocese of Lucknow , a society,registered under the Societies Registration Act the XXI of 1860. It was founded in 1977 with the object of imparting moderneducation to Catholics student in a manner that will conserve their “religion,language and culture” but admission is not denied to students professing other faiths. The culture is named after St. Dominic Savio, a model and example for boys and girls.

The little Saint Dominic was born in Riva , Italy, on 2nd April , 1842. While he was young he cherished the ideals of cheerfulness, truthfulness,and honesty.In the school he was a lovable friend to all and was ever ready to help his companions . He could not serve his fellow men very long as he was called to his eternal reward at the young age of 15 on 9th March,1857. The life of St. Dominic Savio has been a great inspiration to many a youth and his motto has been

"“DO GOOD TO ALL” , ” DEATH RATHER THAN SIN”."

The College aims at the integral and personal formation of young children by giving them an education which is morally, mentally,socially and spiritually sound.

The College encourages the students to keep their ideals high and to strive for excellence in every field.It endeavour to inculcate in them the value of freedom and its judicious use,respect of law and order. It also teaches them to abide by moral principles,to be unselfish in the service of their country and fellowmen.

The College adopts the I.C.S.E. pattern of education and admits boys and girls from Nursery to Class XII.
