Silcis

Silcis (also known as Silcis Gorgaarte or Silcis Gorgaarte Hawiye) is a Somali clan family that belongs to the larger Hawiye clan. Prior to the 19th century, they had a kingdom that ruled most of today's Lower Shabelle. They are also the founders and the original inhabitants of the town of Afgoi, 30 kilometres south of the Somali capital, Mogadishu.
