USS Accomac (YTB-812)

USS Accomac (YTB-812)

The third USS "Accomac" (YTB-812) is a "Natick"-class large harbor tug in the service of the United States Navy, named after Accomac, Virginia. She is currently serving in Naval Region Northwest.

She was laid down on 12 January 1971 at Sturgeon Bay, Wisconsin by Peterson Builders, launched on 8 June 1971, and delivered to the Navy on 17 November 1971.

Placed in service during December 1971, the large harbor tug began duty in the 12th Naval District sometime in 1972. She was still serving actively.
