Paracortex

Paracortex

Paracortex is the portion of a lymph node immediately surrounding the cortex. Unlike the cortex, which has mostly B cells, the paracortex has mostly T cells. Lymphocytes enter the lymph nodes through specialised high endothelial venules found in the paracortex.
