Introducing

"Dnevni Avaz" (English translation: Daily Voice) is one of the most popular daily newspapers in Bosnia and Herzegovina published in Sarajevo.
[

Avaz Business Center located in Sarajevo] It was founded by Fahrudin Radončić, a Bosniak journalist from the Sandžak region in Montenegro, at the end of 1995. It is publicly suspected that Radončić founded the newspaper with financial aid from SDA (Stranka Demokratske Akcije), one of the dominant nationalist parties in Bosnia. For this reason, the Avaz newspaper has for long been favouring the mentioned party and was considered a media instrument of SDA. Later on, the relationship deteriorated, and Avaz began a media campaign favouring SDP, SDA's main competitor in the Federation of Bosnia & Herzegovina. Then again, Avaz changed sides again and started a media campaign against SDP and its leader, Zlatko Lagumdzija. Since then, there has been a constant feud between Dnevni Avaz and Oslobođenje, Bosnia's most famous newspaper, both pushing for their own candidates, or better said candidates favoured by their respective owners (Dnevni Avaz - Fahrudin Radoncic ; Oslobođenje - The Selimovic family. Both sides have gained wealth at rapid pace and are suspected of using their newspapers primarily to cover up their illegal activities and intimidate any possible prosecution. The Selimovic family is suspected of illegal operations while privatizing some public companies, and Radončić is suspected of Tax evasion and being hired as a media promotor of several interest groups, among who is even Miroslav Mišković, owner of Serbia's Delta Corporation and suspected financier of Slobodan Milošević and other Serbian war criminals. Although such cooperation between a "Bosniak" media champion and a supporter of Serbian war criminals is almost uncomprehensable, they even founded together a company in Sarajevo under the name "Predzident Nekretnine d.o.o."

While Fahrudin Raodnčić often claims that he has no involvement with Avaz's articles, it is very obvious that he is heavily involved in the editorial of those.

Dnevni Avaz has very often published gruesome photos of injured or dead victims of crime and traffic accidents, bringing its ethics and morale under question.

All above mentioned has made Dnevni Avaz the newspaper with the larget circulation, but with very little respect in regard to its quality.

Today, the Dnevni Avaz newspaper is part of the Avaz publishing house the biggest news house in Bosnia and Herzegovina.

As of 2006, the Avaz publishing house was expanded with the start of the construction of the Avaz Twist Tower a 172m skyscraper in Sarajevo’s Marindvor Business District. The company's former headquarters, the Avaz Business Center (Former Oslobodjenje Tower), was converted (50%) into a highrise hotel, Radon Plaza Hotel (based on the owner's last name Radončić), and the remainder of the tower will be converted into hotel space on the completion of the new Avaz headquarters. There have been several unsuccessful attempts to rent the building to companies as office space, before it was converted to a hotel.

This newspaper is often viewed as Pro-Bosniak newspaper, this reflects on the sales of the newspaper in Serbian part of Bosnia where Avaz holds only 18% of the market. In the Bosnian federation Avaz holds 62% of the market.
