Bernard Freeman, better known by his stage name Bun B, is a rapper and one half (with the late Pimp C) of Southern hip hop act UGK. He is a member of Rap-A-Lot Records, an independent hip hop record label.

UGK and Mddl Fngz

Based in Port Arthur, Texas, Bun B and fellow rapper Chad "Pimp C" Butler formed UGK in the late 1980s Fact|date=October 2008 and in 1992 signed with Jive Records, which released their major-label debut "Too Hard to Swallow". That album was the first among several more bestselling Southern rap albums. UGK has performed guest appearances in the songs "Big Pimpin'" by Jay-Z and "Sippin' on Some Syrup" by Three 6 Mafia.

olo career

Since Pimp C entered a jail sentence in 2003 on an aggravated gun assault charge, Bun B made guest appearances on numerous albums by other Southern rappers and released a 2005 mixtape titled "Legends". Singles featuring Bun B included "They Don't Know" by Paul Wall and "Gimme That" by Webbie.

"Trill"

"II Trill"

After Pimp C died in 2007, Bun B returned to a solo career. In 2008, he released his second album, "II Trill". The first single was "That's Gangsta" featuring Sean Kingston.
