Simada

:"For the village in Azerbaijan, see Sımada."Simada is one of the 105 woredas in the Amhara Region of Ethiopia. Part of the Debub Gondar Zone, Simada is bordered on the southeast by the Bashilo River which separates it from the Debub Wollo Zone, on the southwest by the Abbay River which separates it from the Misraq Gojjam Zone, on the northwest by Este, and on the east by Tach Gayint. The major town in Simada is Wegeda.

Based on figures published by the Central Statistical Agency in 2005, this woreda has an estimated total population of 254,676, of whom 128,011 were males and 126,665 were females; 7,973 or 3.13% of its population are urban dwellers, which is less than the Zone average of 8.3%. With an estimated area of 2,069.38 square kilometers, Simada has an estimated population density of 123.1 people per square kilometer, which is less than the Zone average of 169.21.
