Germi County

Germi County ( _fa. شهرستان گرمی) is a county in Ardabil Province in Iran.It placed in north of Ardabil city. The capital of the county is Germi city. About 128,000 people were living in this country in 2008 that 38,000 people were living in Germi city (center of country). This country area reaches to 1734.5 km² and placed in 120 km far from Ardabil (center of province). Yearly 300 mm raining and good temperature (-10 to 36 Celsius) allows to farmer to reach good yealds in growing cereals.
Germi City in new age of its living; established in about 900 Islamic year that Shah Ismaieal allowed to 5 shiat family migrate to this region. There were some other places and cities in Azerbaijan of I.R.Iran and Azerbaijan repoblic that named Germi.

The researcher Kourosh Beheshti believes that before this history there were a firealtar. He believes that before this history there were living followers of Mitrathat is one of ancient religion in Iran.The most historical place in this country is Barzand Castle that was the castle of Afshin who battled with Babak Khorramdin in earlier century of Islamic history. People of this country are Muslim and speech in Azeri language.Most famous and lorger river of country is Dareroud; it issues from southern and eastern foot of Sabalan and joins to Aras river in north borther of I.R.Iran. sThis river is the lorger internal river of Ardabil province.
