- U.S. Route 28
U.S. Route 28 is a defunct designation (since the early
1950s ) of an east-west highway betweenFlorence, Oregon , andOntario, Oregon . In 1937, US 28 was truncated atEugene, Oregon , which then became its western terminus. US 28 was replaced withU.S. Highway 26 when U.S. 26 was extended fromWyoming to thePacific Ocean in 1952. The portion of US 28 from Ontario, OR, to Prineville, OR, became US 26. US 26 then continued in a northwesterly direction to Portland and Astoria.
